A visitor named Kelly has identified this piece as being from Cemar Pottery of California circa the 1940s (for a similar example, see Chipman, Calif. Pottery 2nd ed. - page 303).

    I suspect this is Brush Pottery. I found a pair of these horses at an antique mall that are a black glaze that has a distinctive green tint to it when in the light. I have seen that same glaze on a Brush cat. The dark pink also seems consistent with Brush.
