The two dogs appear to be from similar molds, except there is differing amounts of detail in the fur. The one on the right has lots of detail, while the one on the left is more smooth. This could be due to the pieces being molded at different times. . . wear on the mold over time would cause less detail to be transferred onto the pottery.

It is also known that different potteries copied each other's work, sometimes even making a mold using their competitor's finished product. When this happens, there is usually a slight difference in size as well as in detail, due to shrinkage.
